Homelessness in Eugene – A Photo Essay
This photo essay explores the problem of homelessness in Eugene. The US Department of Housing and Urban Development Assessment Report (2008) states that Oregon has the highest proportion of homeless people in the United States. The majority of homeless people in Oregon are in the greater Eugene area. Today, it’s illegal in Eugene for people to sleep on public land, however for over a year many members of the homeless community have been living in makeshift camps around the city. Oregon Farmworkers Project
This project will result in a series of short, multilingual documentaries that will work to expand and complicate the dominant narrative of food system reform by drawing attention to the role of immigrant farmworkers in the agricultural production process. The premise of this series is that, for comprehensive food system reform to be achievable, it must encompass the voices of agricultural laborers and food processors.
